Western Tailless Whip Scorpion (Damon medius) is a fascinating arachnid native to North Africa and the Middle East. This medium-sized species reaches 3–4 inches in body length and is instantly recognizable by its flattened body, elongated pedipalps, and absence of a tail—despite its common name. Damon medius thrives in warm, humid environments and prefers a naturalistic setup with cork bark, leaf litter, and hiding spots. They are primarily nocturnal hunters, feeding on insects and small arthropods. These scorpions are generally docile and make excellent display specimens for experienced keepers interested in unusual invertebrates. Care requirements include temperatures between 24–28°C, moderate humidity. They are long-lived, with lifespans of 5–8 years in captivity. Ideal for keepers seeking a low-maintenance, visually striking addition to their collection.
